Generally, keyboards require little care. The keyboard's biggest enemies are dust and liquid.
You may want to by a keyboard cover to protect your keyboard. They come in two flavors: one fits very snugly over the keys so you can still type. The second is a more loose fitting dust cover.
If you spill any type of liquid over your keyboard you are asking for trouble. As a general rule, NEVER have an open container of liquid on the same table as your keyboard.
If your keyboard just quits, it is generally cheaper to buy a brand new one, than to try and have the old one reparied.
